Well, if you ask people why they surf over the internet there may be millions of answers you might get. The most probable answer is because they are looking for something specific or just anything in random. That something might be just some information or it might be a product or even some kind of service. People browse over the net day and night to find the answer to that something. I am also into Search Engine Optimization and internet marketing a little and I know how important incoming “links” are for a website to have a good SERP. But I see in forums and many even contact me personally and people (especially newcomers) are taking this “inbound link” concept in a very wrong way. Just because you want incoming links for your website, it’s not a good idea to just participate in any link exchange programs or buying links from whatever websites and blogs you run upon. Doing this you might get the incoming link but it’s not going to matter at all to drive traffic to your website or rank you better in search engine. A friendly reminder that, ‘Just putting up a website is not enough.
