Laser Engraving commonly called as Laser Marking is the process of using lasers to engrave or mark an object. They have completely dominated over the traditional Mechanical engraving, pad printing, etc. because of their cost, effectiveness and preciseness in end outcome. You can read my past post on Laser Marking to get a brief idea on what it really is and what it does.

Today, I’m giving out a brief info. about a company that has left a mark in the Marking industry. FIMARK is one of UK’s leading suppliers of laser engraving and laser etching services. It started off in 1997 with its aim to provide laser marking services to all sectors of industry and with its high quality service by a fast turnaround it has proven itself in the field of marking. Accepting batches from one item to many thousands, they mark all metals, most plastics and many ceramic objects. From small designer logos on pens and bathroom components, symbols on keyboards and other data entry devices, painting plastic, making night and day switches, to micron accurate marks on thinnest stuffs like fiber-optics which may seem impossible, everything can be marked and etched at FIMARK. They make sure that the customer’s requirements are fully met and the job is completed within the scheduled time.

Hope that the review was useful for my readers.

engrav1.jpgIn the past it was very difficult as well as costly to put or remove marks or logos on small electronic parts, and on metals, plastics and ceramics. Mechanical engraving, pad printing, acid etching, etc. were used for these purposes. These processes were very complex and expensive but still the results were not that satisfactory.

But thanks to Laser Marking technology now it’s not that difficult or costly. Also called as Laser Engraving, in it a precisely controlled laser beam is used to discolor the surface of a component or mark on an object. Even applications that are hard or impossible with other methods can easily be achieved with the laser marking. The process of marking seems very technical but the end outcome is very precise as well as clean. Every possible thing that you can imagine of (metals, wood, jewelry, most plastics and ceramics) can be engraved from laser technology. Manufacturers who need to mark their products (big to small) in the form of logos, serial no., code; people who may want to customize their automotive backlit buttons & fascias; imprints on medical instrument/devices; plastic spray painting; customizing keyboards buttons; everything can be done in the price that is much more reasonable than other forms of marking.
