The HP Photo-Smart R827 Digital Camera is a remarkable camera in itself, with amazing features like resolution of 2384 x 1734 MP, self timer, video capturing, 8 x digital zoom, 2” LCD display monitor, USB to a computer, maximum consumption of 12W power etc! The camera has a resolution of 4.13MP total pixel count and 3.94MP effective pixel count. The colour depth comes to 36 bit made up of 12-bit by 3 colours. There are 3 capture types, namely the Self -Timer, Still and Video. The memory of the digital camera comprises of 2 types, one the in-built SDRAM of size 128MB and the other is by a memory card, in which a 16MB memory card is already included with the camera.

The zooming capacity of the lens comes to 8 x for optical zooming and 7 x for digital zooming. The shutter speed comes to 1/2000 in 16 seconds, which is kind of fast for capturing images, though not very fast, as Kodak and other companies have a similar speed in less than 10 seconds as well. There are many flash settings as well, that make it convenient to choose according to our taste.

The image is displayed in a 2” colour TFT LCD screen, for spotting the subject and shooting accurately. There is a self timer that gives a delay of 10 seconds to take a snap. When shooting still pictures, audio can be captured for about 30 seconds, and when a video is captured, the audio is captured along with.

The interfaces that come along with the camera are a USB to be attached to a PC or PhotoSmart printers, an audio video out to be connected to a TV and an HP camera dock. The whole weight of the camera, excluding the batteries comes to 300g. HP gives an exchange warranty of 1 year.

BenQ, a manufacturer of digital lifestyle devices, introduced a couple of new addition to its popular C series digital camera lineup. The 7-megapixel BenQ C750 and the 8-megapixel BenQ C850 are the new ones in town and creating some buzz in the digital world.

Both Features:

The only difference that I could find is the mega pixel and that the C750 has got a 2.5″ and C850 a 2.7″ LCD display. They already mentioned they both got Super Shake Free system with a high sensitivity of ISO1600 that can be engaged during both static and movie mode. The 3X optical zoom in movie mode allows you to zoom in and out for a sharp and clear view during video recording in MJPEG 4 format at 640×480 or 720×400 at 30 fps in traditional and widescreen formats. There’s also an embedded Smile Catch mode that allows continuous shooting whenever a smiling face is detected within the scene until the mode is deactivated. Also equipped with P/Av/Tv/M mode and a total of 14 shooting modes, they offer instant access to a variety of shooting options.
Both the BenQ C750 and C850 are soon to be available in select countries in Asia Pacific and Europe, may be in April.
